Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a PR & Communications Manager to build and execute our media presence across the US and European markets, with a focus on Germany.

This role is focused on earned media, storytelling, and external communications. You will drive consistent, high-quality media coverage, shape our narrative, and ensure strong brand visibility across key external channels. <!-- notionvc: 064430f5-8273-42a8-9dea-ad2bd0149dc3 -->

Main goal:

Build an effective PR system that ensures consistent media coverage and increases brand awareness and trust across the US and European markets.

Establish strong expert and brand positioning for Luminar within the industry through strategic media presence, leadership, and PR initiatives.

Responsibilities:

PR & Media Relations (60%)

• Execute PR strategy across US and EU markets
• Pitch stories and secure media coverage in relevant outlets
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and editors
• Develop strong story angles, narratives, and media hooks
• Own the full cycle: idea → pitch → placement → amplification
• Shape and refine brand narrative for external communications
• Create press materials (press releases, media kits, talking points)
• Align messaging across PR, content, and marketing
• Ensure industry awards recognition
• Introduce proper PR measurement model with clear impact on business

Events (~30%)

• Own execution of selected industry events (US/EU)
• Contribute to presence strategy (booth concept, messaging, positioning)
• Coordinate communication with vendors and logistics
• Secure speaking opportunities and event-related PR

Webinars & external content (10%)

• Support webinars and external-facing content from a communications perspective
• Package insights into clear, compelling narratives
• Support cross-team educational materials where needed

Requirements:

• 2-4+ years of experience in PR / Communications
• Experience in tech, SaaS, AI, or creative tools
• Proven track record of securing Tier-1 US/EU media coverage (portfolio)
• Experience working with US and/or European media
• Hands-on experience with pitching and journalist outreach
• Strong English (written and spoken)
• Ability to independently drive PR initiatives
• Hands on experience with PR tools (e.g. Muck Rack, Qwoted)

Nice to have:

• Experience with German press landscape
• Spoken/written German
