Job Description

The Global Portfolio Marketing Manager plays a key role in steering the company’s product strategy and implementing it via marketing-driven product campaigns which leads to effective management across all product portfolios. Within this role, you need to manage a team of portfolio marketing managers, work closely with product management on portfolio strategy including positioning of all products and cross selling into different markets and segments. Additionally, the Global Portfolio Marketing Manager will integrate after-sales and service components to enhance customer satisfaction and product lifecycle management. This role ensures that the strategies are not only innovative as well as effective in reaching and engaging the target audience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop global portfolio program strategy including annual goals and processes.

  • Manage a team of direct report(s), including yearly performance cycles.

  • Define and lead the global strategic direction of the assigned product/solution portfolio in line with business goals, customer trends, and market evolution.

  • Drive achievement of key sales pipeline targets and support overall GM & IS team performance, ensuring coverage across the region's countries.

  • Driving and leading successful segment- & product campaigns /promo’s globally with a clear ROI.

  • Pro-actively drive our portfolio marketing growth vision into the organization.

  • Achievement of monthly New Opportunities targets.

  • Build our MP brand and thought leadership in the market to create new prospects, grow our mailable database, share knowledge towards potential customers and generating content that drives our pipeline

  • Maintain updated task tracking, oversee team workload, and provide support for customer engagement.

  • Develop deep expertise in Malvern Panalyticals/MM solutions, ensuring proficient technical knowledge for effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

  • Create insight in our competitive offering.

  • Owns global messaging frameworks and value propositions based on VOC and competitive positioning.

  • Train the global marketing team on portfolio: positioning, pricing, value propositions, competition etc.

  • Ensure mastery and data accuracy in Malvern Panalyticals CRM system and other relevant tools to enhance sales effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, PM, Field Sales, Technical Specialists, Comms, Customer Support, Applications) to advance sales opportunities.

  • Gather market, segment, and customer insights to inform product enhancements and demand generation efforts.

  • Coach junior portfolio managers or product marketers; foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration and customer obsession, utilizing performance and talent development tools.

  • Uphold and promote the company’s Code of Business Ethics and ensure GDPR compliance within the team.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Scientific backgrounds preferred (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering).

  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience in a similar role within a B2B company.

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and another language ideally.

  • Proven sales experience in B2B

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Pro-active, can-do mentality; ability to push through.

  • Adaptability and flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions.

  • Ability to work with cross functional international teams: market development team, sales, marketing development, field marketing, product marketing.

  • Open mind, strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with several stakeholders.

  • Result driven with a close eye on data management to optimize the marketing generated pipeline across the regions and portfolios.

  • Culturally agile, can effectively lead and build bridges with teams that are geographically dispersed.

  • Efficiently and effectively execute local marketing programs.

  • Forecast, measure, analyse and report on impact of variety of product portfolios and tactics such as events, webinars, email campaigns. Localize marketing content and organize events and product demonstrations that will convert leads into sales ready opportunities. This pertains to marketing products and after sales care products like service contracts, training programs, expertise solutions etc. 

  • Proactively engage with the sales teams to coordinate, communicate, and optimize the impact of marketing activities.
