• This role is responsible for providing direct leadership for a team of individual contributors, overseeing programs related to supply chain strategic development, and planning, directing, and monitoring operational activities with accountability for results. The role leads cross-functional projects to solve strategic supply chain problems, manages supply chain models, and develops recommendations based on benchmarking and financial data. The role executes approaches for partnerships and strategies to drive new business opportunities and guides process improvements in alignment with business tactics and strategy.

The HP Planet Partners Team, in the Returns and Takeback Operations organization, is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing take-back (collection), recycling, and compliance reporting solutions for end-of-life used HP HW and printing supplies (e.g. inkjet and toner cartridges). We manage our programs and processes on a day-to-day basis to ensure they meet HP’s legal and environmental obligations, quality, cost goals, and the needs of our customers. We are also responsible for developing and driving plans for continuous improvement, re-engineering our network and processes, and selecting the best suppliers and partners in the market to work with.

The Takeback team offers a convenient and free solution for HP customers to return and recycle their used HP hardware, Inkjet, and LaserJet cartridges through the HP Planet Partners Program. We are seeking an operations Manager to manage takeback operations, lead projects to improve and manage operations and spearhead initiatives to enhance our Take Back services for both categories: HW and Supplies.
The Global Planet Partners Operations Manager’s main responsibilities will be to lead the global team of Supply Chain professionals who manage the customer facing program, Planet Partners for HW and Supplies. You will set the vision and drive business model strategies that enable market access and enhance the perception of HP products. You will drive and lead the continuous improvement of the processes and system to exceed customer expectations and drive business success for HP. You will need to be comfortable with both strategic and tactical focus areas while coaching your employees towards success. You will evaluate and analyze regulatory insights that can inform future product and business model designs and influence business partners to act and make investments.
Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
• Be the primary voice for Supplies Takeback Operations with Supplies leadership.
• Shape business model, technology development and customer value proposition evolution.
• Engage with customers, sales and channel partners to differentiate HP supplies.
• Ensure that safe, legally compliant Supplies Takeback Operations cost-effectively deliver on customer value proposition in our markets.
• Lead and support the development and improvement of Supplies Takeback Operations processes and tools, establishing new capabilities and driving continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of team operations.
• Inspire the team to work across complex and ambiguous frameworks that might impact product design or market access and develop insights to influence R&D and Marketing partners.
• Ensure program and project discipline is in place to execute team and Department initiatives.
• Bring calm to periods of escalation and tension.
• Manage ambiguity; put it to work for the better of HP.

Responsibilities
• Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors to coordinate, manage, and lead strategic development related projects for a moderately complex category or business unit.
• Plans, directs and monitors operational/tactical activities of staff, and holds accountability for results of a major strategic development program in terms of cost, direction and people management.
• Consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a limited scope.
• Manages strategic supply chain models that translate physical and financial flows into business processes, implementing product and services supply chains into the company's business systems.
• Leads a team to conduct data analysis, and leverages insights to develop recommendations based on benchmarking, financial results, and statistical data.
• Develops and executes an approach and implementation for partnerships and strategies that accelerate the establishment of new business opportunities.
• Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility.
• Applies industry and subject matter knowledge and experience to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established frameworks.
• Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations management, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of job-related experience or 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in supply chain, operations, or a related field.
