Global Payments Development & Testing Lead (fix term 24 months contract)

Location: Bristol (hybrid)

The Finance function is responsible for providing treasury management services in respect of both client and own funds, financial planning & analysis, financial accounting and reporting, commercial finance and tax support to all business units and functions throughout the Computershare Group.

Operational Payments transformation programme will be implementing a global payments hub and payment operations utility for Computershare.The role must also work collaboratively with other global teams, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and a variety of project related activity.

The Global Payments Development & Testing Lead drives the global strategy for development and testing within the Operational Payments transformation, delivering a scalable, secure, and compliant payments capability across regions.

The role provides strategic leadership across cross-functional teams, aligning technology delivery with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and client needs.

Acting as a key partner to Global Treasury and programme leadership, they help shape and support long-term capability development.

They ensure development and testing capabilities contribute to operational resilience, cost efficiency, and high-quality client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the global strategy and roadmap for development and testing within Operational Payments, aligned to the overall transformation vision.
  • Lead and direct global, multi-disciplinary teams (development, testing, business analysis, architecture and third parties), delivering through both direct and matrix leadership.
  • Accountable for the end-to-end quality and integrity of payment solutions, ensuring they meet regulatory, operational, and client requirements.
  • Own the global governance and control framework for development and testing, ensuring audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders, including Global Treasury leadership, to shape strategic priorities, resolve complex issues, and inform investment decisions.
  • Drive integration across systems, platforms, and payment flows to deliver a cohesive global payments capability.
  • Lead the identification and mitigation of delivery, operational, and regulatory risks, ensuring appropriate controls are in place across all phases of delivery.
  • Oversee defect management, prioritisation and resolution strategies, ensuring minimal impact on business operations and client outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation, incorporating industry trends and emerging technologies into the development and testing strategy.
  • Represent the payments transformation in senior governance forums, influencing decision-making at an enterprise level.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Deep expertise in global payments and treasury operations, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Recognised leader in development and testing strategy, with a proven track record of defining and implementing enterprise-wide standards, governance, and control frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape target operating models and embed best practices across complex, global technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end payments architecture, including large-scale integrations, processing flows, and system interdependencies.
  • Strategic and forward-thinking approach, leveraging industry trends, regulatory change, and emerging technologies to drive organisational direction.
  • Extensive experience within large, complex, and highly regulated global organisations, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, understanding how payments capabilities support performance, client outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven leadership of large, globally distributed and multi-disciplinary teams, delivering through both direct and matrix structures.
  • Clear strategic mindset, with the ability to define vision, set priorities, and drive performance across a complex delivery landscape.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capability, managing and resolving highly complex, enterprise-level challenges with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
  • Accountability for global development and testing strategy delivery, playing a critical role in the success of major transformation initiatives.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage, challenge, and align stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
