Global Network Banking (GNB) provides banking coverage to the subsidiaries of customers within the large corporate and mid-market enterprise segments. Our strategy is to provide consistent, in-depth and dedicated coverage across the HSBC network, with the goal of deepening client relationships and supporting sustainable growth.

As a Global Network Banking Relationship Manager (RM) within Global Network Banking, part of Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB), you will report to the Country Head of Global Network Banking and support a portfolio of international subsidiaries operating in Switzerland. You will work with leading multinational corporates across sectors including healthcare, consumer and retail, TMT (technology, media and telecommunications), energy, materials and power, and industrials and transport. What you will do:

As a Global Network Banking Relationship Manager, you will act as a point of contact for clients, manage relationship and product teams to provide proactive support in deepening client relationships and, improve income generation through focused business development activities. The Global Network Banking Relationship Manager will drive product sales opportunities and lead the due diligence and execution of new business opportunities and implement successfully won transactions (including You’re your Client (KYC), client/product onboarding).

In this role you will:

  • Support the management and development of a portfolio of international corporate clients operating in Switzerland
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering outstanding service and supporting client growth
  • Help drive operational excellence and effective execution across the client portfolio
  • Collaborate with the global coverage teams and product specialists to identify opportunities and deliver holistic banking solutions
  • Prepare client meeting materials and presentations, as well as briefing notes in advance of key client meetings, and where relevant participate in and contribute to the high quality of
    client meetings
  • Deliver high-quality service and ensure early identification and resolution of problems
  • Support client onboarding, account management, preparation of credit processes and applications, and ongoing annual reviews
    Deepen understanding of the client through proactive credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews
  • Keep abreast of external factors influencing international business e.g. economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure adherence to HSBC's standards by managing financial crime risk, operational risk, and regulatory compliance throughout the client lifecycle

You should apply if you have:

  • Relevant expertise in in a client-focused role, ideally within corporate banking, corporate finance, transaction banking or a related environment
  • Be a strong team player and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and willingness to be a driven self-starter
  • Be proactive, autonomous, self-motivated and high energy, able to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Accounting etc) or other similar qualification
  • Fluent spoken and written English; fluency in German, French or Italian is an advantage
  • Good understanding of risk management principles and common credit mitigants
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial analysis and ability to support credit assessment
  • Ability to develop good working partnerships with credit, clients’ management and product teams
  • Awareness of regulatory developments affecting corporate banking
  • Strong IT skills (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, with a hands-on approach and flexibility across a range of requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
