The Immigration Manager will lead and manage all aspects of international immigration for John Sisk & Son, ensuring the compliant, timely, and efficient movement of employees across multiple jurisdictions. This role is critical to supporting Sisk’s international project delivery, safeguarding compliance, and enabling the business to deploy talent globally with confidence.

This position plays a central role in embedding immigration considerations into project planning, workforce deployment, and global mobility strategy across the group.

This role directly supports project delivery, reduces compliance risk, prevents mobilisation delays, and ensures Sisk can deploy talent where it is needed most.

Responsibilities

• Immigration Strategy — Develop and maintain Sisk’s global immigration strategy, ensuring alignment with business needs, project timelines, and regulatory requirements. Forecast immigration requirements linked to project mobilisation and international workforce planning.
• Case Management — Manage end‑to‑end immigration processes for international assignments, business travel, project mobilisation, and cross‑border workforce deployment. Oversee visa, work permit, residency, sponsorship, and right‑to‑work processes across multiple jurisdictions
• Compliance Oversight — Ensure adherence to immigration legislation across all operating regions, including visa, work permit, residency, sponsorship, and right‑to‑work obligations.
• Stakeholder Engagement — Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, Project Directors, and Legal to provide expert guidance on immigration risks, timelines, and requirements.
• Vendor Management — Manage external immigration providers, ensuring high‑quality service delivery, cost control, and consistent case outcomes.
• Policy & Governance — Maintain and enhance immigration policies, processes, and governance frameworks across the group.
• Risk Management — Identify and mitigate immigration‑related risks, including non‑compliance, delays, and project impacts.
• Reporting & Analytics — Produce regular immigration dashboards, case tracking, and compliance reporting for senior leadership.
• Employee Experience — Provide clear, supportive guidance to employees navigating immigration processes, ensuring a positive and informed experience
• Continuous Improvement — Drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and best‑practice adoption across global mobility and immigration.
• Global Mobility - Assist the wider Global Mobility and Employment Tax team by contributing to tax assessments, compliance reviews, assignment costings, and cross‑border workforce planning, ensuring immigration and tax considerations are aligned.

Experience

• Proven experience in international immigration management, ideally within a multinational or project driven organisation.
• Strong knowledge of visa, work permit, sponsorship, and residency frameworks across multiple jurisdictions including UK, USA and EU
• Experience working with external immigration providers and government authorities.
• Ability to interpret complex legislation and translate it into clear, practical guidance.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• High attention to detail and strong risk awareness.
• Experience in the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors is an advantage but not essential.
