The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs professional who is passionate about bridging our affiliates with the global team as a Global Medical Network Leader (GMNL) in Ophthalmology. In this strategic role, you will catalyze the execution of medical strategies and ensure a strong affiliate voice in our global decision-making.

In this position, you will:

  • Represent the affiliate voice within the Ophthalmology Disease Area (DA) to influence global teams and enable local medical teams to execute integrated strategies efficiently.

  • Act as a strategic medical partner to architect, catalyze, and provide hands-on support for medical strategy and engagement activities in an end-to-end fashion.

  • Advise on strategic planning across the DA lifecycle, focusing on improving HCP and patient journeys and maximizing eligible patient access.

  • Support launch readiness for internal medical and commercial teams to ensure a seamless transition from pipeline to market.

  • Maintain an E2E view of the portfolio, covering pipeline acceleration and commercialization based on DA prioritization.

  • Collaborate across the matrix by troubleshooting challenges and aligning global objectives with local healthcare system needs.

  • Foster excellence by getting certified on relevant Roche platforms and developing support or training documentation to empower the affiliate network.


Who You Are


You are a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape and a proven track record of influencing complex, matrixed organizations. You possess the scientific rigor and the entrepreneurial mindset needed to drive medical excellence on a global scale.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Advanced Scientific Background: A Medical Degree (MD) or a PhD/PharmD/MSc in science, combined with deep scientific knowledge of Ophthalmology.

  • Extensive Medical Affairs Experience: At least 5 years in the pharma industry, including mandatory experience in regional or country medical leadership roles.

  • Strategic Influence: Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to negotiate, coach, and partner successfully across diverse cultures.

  • Business Acumen: A solid understanding of the drug development process, regulatory requirements, and medical/healthcare compliance.

  • Global Fluency: Proficiency in written and verbal English; fluency in additional languages and a willingness to travel are preferred.
