Job Description

At Mars, we have bold aspirations to be a digital-first business. We’ve all experienced how digital and data are rapidly transforming our day-to-day work, and we need to respond more quickly to the changing world around us. Over the past several years, data management and expertise have evolved organically rather than strategically within our business and, as a result, the way we currently manage data is fragmented. In 2020, we announced the Master Data network at Mars to ensure timely, accurate, and trusted Master Data, critical to our aspiration to be a digital-first, data-centric business.

As part of this continued journey, we will also need to transform our IT: renewing solutions & platforms to digitize Master Data Management, and introducing new technologies & capabilities that deliver timely, accurate, and trusted data assets, empowering our associates to use it effectively within the business context.

We are seeking a Global technical lead to play a pivotal role in this journey. The primary purpose is to provide technical expertise on the current MDG solution and support the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives, projects, and transformation programs such as S4, cPLM, and Kellanova integration.

What are we looking for?

  • Leading the technical implementation of SAP MDG-M (Product) initiatives within his/her area of responsibility, primarily continuous improvement initiatives (CIPs) and projects.
  • Supporting transformation programs by providing expertise on current MDG solutions when required.
  • Representing the voice of IT within the Product Data Council and providing thought leadership, best practices, and delivery of agreed IT solutions and capabilities.
  • Driving the creation of a single, consistent view of Product data across the enterprise throughout its lifecycle by improving the enterprise data model and architecture, SAP MDG templates and integrations, data quality, reporting capabilities, and the retirement of legacy solutions.
  • Partnering with Master Data Domain IT Leads to assess current solutions and guide requirements toward designs that meet business needs while minimizing changes to the existing model.
  • Leading MDG solution design and integration architecture across upstream and downstream systems, leveraging best-in-class MDG capabilities to address business requirements.
  • Ensuring that vendor partners deliver the agreed solution design and that design governance standards are consistently applied across all functional domains.
  • Collaborating with domain leads to identify and highlight where business demand requires either a solution enhancement or business process transformation.
  • Providing regular updates to leadership teams, with accountability for progress, actions, risks, and issue management.

Qualifications:

  • Considerable experience (5+ years) in Master Data Management or Data Architecture (including relevant collaboration experience) spanning multiple domains in a complex multinational corporate environment.
  • Experience in designing and implementing MDM solutions on the SAP stack (MDG/IS/Data Services/HANA, etc.)
  • Envision, model, and optimize complex yet efficient business processes, data, and workflows.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills, with independence and proven management experience within a matrix organization
  • Background in the BI, Information, Data, and Analytics space
  • Strong business acumen in the FMCG industry and the Product/Material area
  • Experience with Solutions Architecture, Applications portfolio management
  • Stakeholder relationship management with global leaders
