If so, you may be our new Global Maintenance Excellence Project Manager in Global Engineering.

About the Role

As Global Maintenance Excellence Project Manager, you will combine project management responsibilities with specialist expertise. The role requires strong knowledge of maintenance and asset lifecycle management to drive a portfolio of global projects and initiatives within Maintenance and Asset Lifecycle Management.

You will be responsible for developing, standardising, and continuously improving global maintenance processes while ensuring effective implementation within the CMMS across multiple sites. Acting as a key interface between Engineering, QA, EHS, IT, and site organisations, you will ensure maintenance activities remain GMP compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with operational and business needs.

This is a global role requiring strong stakeholder management capabilities, a high degree of independence, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, organisations, and geographical locations.

Location & Travel

  • Primarily site-based in Bern, Switzerland
  • Flexible remote work possibilities
  • Travel to European sites approximately 15–20 days annually

Your Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Own and develop global maintenance processes and standards embedded within the CMMS
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, GEP, and regulatory requirements across all sites
  • Lead cross-site maintenance and CMMS initiatives, including harmonisation and system improvement activities
  • Drive global projects and continuous improvements within Maintenance and Asset Lifecycle Management
  • Act as a key interface between Global Engineering and local organisations performing maintenance and calibration activities
  • Support audit readiness and ensure alignment with business and operational objectives

Who We Are Looking For

We imagine that you:

  • Hold an academic degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline
  • Bring several years of experience from GMP-regulated industries such as pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing
  • Demonstrate strong Project Management and stakeholder skills across multiple sites and functions
  • Have hands-on experience with pharma-grade CMMS platforms and maintenance processes
  • Are able to work independently in a global organisation
  • Communicate clearly and confidently in English, both written and spoken
  • German language skills are considered an advantage

It Will Be an Advantage If You Also Have Experience With:

  • Global process standardisation and governance
  • Maintenance strategy development and implementation
  • CMMS rollouts, upgrades, or harmonisation projects
  • Cross-cultural collaboration within international organisations
