Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and analytically driven Global Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our domestic and international logistics operations. This role sits at the intersection of partner management, transportation strategy, and trade compliance — and will be critical in ensuring our supply chain is efficient, resilient, and compliant across global markets. You will work cross-functionally with procurement, operations, finance, and legal teams, and manage a network of external logistics partners worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Global Partner Management
- Own and manage supplier relationships with a portfolio of global logistics service providers, including freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs, and last-mile carriers
- Lead RFP processes, contract negotiations, and SLA development for new and existing partners
- Conduct regular performance reviews using KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and damage rates; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and onboard new supplier partners to expand or diversify the logistics network as needed by the business.
Transportation Management
- Develop and execute global transportation strategies for optimizing primarily air and ground freight lanes
- Manage day-to-day freight operations, escalations, and exception handling across lanes and regions
- Develop and implement opportunities for efficiency gains via process improvement programs
- Analyze freight spend and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising service levels
- Collaborate with demand planning and fulfillment operations to align transportation capacity with business forecasts.
Trade Compliance
- Maintain accurate product classifications (HTS/HS codes) and country-of-origin documentation for multiple regions/fulfillment sites
- Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholder partners including customs brokers, compliance partners and internal legal counsel to manage customs clearance, trade compliance, duties, and tariff optimization
- Monitor regulatory changes (e.g., USMCA, EU trade regulations, export controls) and proactively update internal procedures
- Develop and manage trade-related SLAs, KPIs and QBRs with various suppliers
- Support audits and respond to inquiries from customs authorities and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Required
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in global logistics, supply chain, or international trade
- Strong “business ownership” mentality. Ability to self-start coupled with strong decision-making skills
- Proven track record managing third-party logistics providers and carrier relationships at a global scale
- Experience working with Air Freight & Ground logistics
- Working knowledge of import/export regulations, Incoterms, customs procedures, and trade compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in using Excel or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to arrive at data-driven decisions
- Excellent project management and communication and writing skills
- Comfortable working remotely across time zones and cultures
Preferred
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, International Studies, Industrial Engineering, Accounting, Business, International Trade
- Certifications such as APICS CSCP, CSCMP, or a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation.
- Experience with SFDC, Dynamics 365 or similar enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with trade compliance software (e.g., Denied Party Screening)
