Key Account Manager – Project Cargo
You will be responsible for driving the commercial development and coordination of Project Cargo activities (Out of Gauge & Breakbulk) across multiple industrial verticals (Energy, Infrastructure, Rolling, Industrial Projects).Your mission is to animate a global network of agencies and sales teams, while managing a portfolio of strategic clients (BCOs and Freight Forwarders), ensuring alignment between market opportunities and CMA CGM’s maritime network capabilities.You will act as a central interface between Head Office, Regions, and Local Agencies, bringing market intelligence, structuring commercial approaches, and supporting complex project opportunities.In parallel, you will contribute to internal strategic initiatives, including pricing logic, research tools, and business development methodologies.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
1. Multi-Vertical Development & Key Account Management
Manage a portfolio of strategic accounts across different verticals (OEMs, EPCs, industrial players, forwarders)Structure and deploy vertical-specific strategies (Wind, Power, Rolling, Yachting…)Identify decision-makers and project pipelines within key clients and ecosystemsBuild account plans including growth targets, tender strategies, and routing optimizationSupport major RFQs and project bids with tailored solutions (OOG/BBK, multimodal, service design)Strengthen CMA CGM positioning as a project cargo expert through client engagement and industry events
2. Network Animation & Commercial Coordination
Animate and coordinate a global network of agencies and sales representatives across key tradesDrive visibility on pipeline, strategic opportunities, and project developments across regionsEnsure alignment between Sales, Trade, Pricing, and Operations to deliver competitive and executable offersSupport local teams on complex OOG / Breakbulk shipments (feasibility, routing, service selection)Develop and monitor performance dashboards (TEUs OOG, BBK volumes, win ratio, vertical performance)Lead internal reviews and contribute to Quarterly Business Reviews with key regions and clients
3. Market Expertise & Maritime Network Understanding
Develop a strong understanding of project cargo market dynamics (flows, commodities, competitors)Leverage knowledge of CMA CGM’s maritime network (services, rotations, gateways, constraints) to optimize our developmentIdentify gaps between market needs and current network capabilities and propose improvementsSupport internal teams in translating commercial opportunities into operationally viable solutions
4. Strategic Projects, Tools & Pricing Contribution
Participate in cross-functional workshops on pricing strategy, research tools, and business development frameworksContribute to the improvement of internal tools (quoting platforms, data analytics...)Promote data-driven decision making and improve visibility on opportunity qualification and prioritizationContribute to digitalization initiatives aiming at increasing commercial efficiency and scalability
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Postgraduate degree in International Trade, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Management5+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or project cargo environmentStrong understanding of Project Cargo markets (OOG / Breakbulk / Industrial Projects)Good knowledge of maritime network organization (services, trades, routing constraints)Proven ability to animate international networks and work in a matrix organizationStrong commercial acumen with experience in complex negotiations and tender managementAnalytical mindset with ability to structure insights and translate them into actionExcellent communication skills and stakeholder management (internal & external)Fluent in English
