Global Human Resources Audit & Policies Lead

The Global HR Audit and HR Policies Lead is responsible for leading global HR audit readiness and policy governance across the enterprise. This role partners with global, regional, and country HR teams, as well as legal, compliance, internal audit, and business stakeholders, to strengthen HR controls, manage policy frameworks, support internal and external audits, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and human rights expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HP’s global HR audit activities, with a focus on Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) audits, human rights audits, customer audits, SOX-related HR control activities, and other internal or external compliance reviews.

  • Partner closely with country HR teams, HR Centers of Excellence, other HR functions, and auditors to ensure successful planning, execution, and completion of audit and compliance activities.

  • Lead the development, review, implementation, and governance of global and country HR policies, standards, manuals, and related guidance documents; oversee the policy review process to ensure content remains current and effective.

  • Design and maintain an end-to-end HR policy management framework, including policy inventory, review cycles, version control, approvals, and communication plans to drive consistency and standardization.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and HR stakeholders on HR audit- and policy-related topics.

  • Monitor changes in RBA requirements, human rights regulations, customer codes of conduct, and external standards; assess business impact and lead the implementation of required changes in partnership with country and cross-functional teams.

  • Review and strengthen HR internal controls, support control assessments, and ensure risks, findings, corrective actions, and remediation plans are appropriately documented, escalated, and tracked to closure.

  • Lead or support the design and implementation of RBA and human rights management system elements, including risk assessments, legal registers, policies, targets, and supporting guidance.

  • Lead global HR compliance projects as needed and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance policy clarity, governance discipline, audit outcomes, and organizational readiness for change.

  • Track policy and audit compliance metrics, provide leadership updates, and translate business needs into practical HR compliance initiatives and action plans.

Education and Experience

  • A first-level university degree or equivalent experience is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field is preferred.

  • Typically 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, including 5–7 years in a compliance role

  • Strong experience supporting RBA audits, internal and external audits, developing and implementing policy frameworks, monitoring legislative and regulatory changes, managing corrective actions, and partnering across global or multi-country environments is required.

  • Experience supporting human rights, labor standards, customer compliance, or certification-related initiatives is an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HR governance, policy compliance, risk management, and control frameworks.

  • Deep experience supporting HR audits, including RBA, human rights, SOX-related, country-level, and other compliance reviews.

  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, with the ability to translate them into practical HR guidance.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, consulting, influencing, negotiating, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across global, regional, and country teams in a matrixed environment.

  • Ability to lead change and translate business needs into practical compliance and policy solutions.
