Department Overview
The Human Resources Department of the Travel & Mobility Business is taking on various challenges in cooperation with management to achieve Rakuten Travel's goal of becoming “Asia's No. 1 OTA (Online Travel Agent)”.

Why We Hire
We are strengthening our global business, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, and are seeking a professional in international HR to connect our headquarters in Japan with over 10 overseas locations. To further expand our business, we are looking for someone who can handle fundamental HR tasks and plan, develop, and execute various initiatives.
Position Details
You will be responsible for tasks related to the overseas offices of our Travel & Mobility business.
- Management of overseas payroll processes.
- Operation and improvement of evaluation and compensation systems.
- Planning and management of organizational design and development.
- Planning and management of retention measures and career development support.
- Regulation management, system operation, and improvement tasks.
- Individual labor management (illness, maternity/paternity leave).
- Improvement of operational processes.
- Recruitment of local employees.
You may also be asked to participate in or manage projects within the team and across departments.
Therefore, we are looking for candidates with experience in project management, problem-solving based on communication with management and on-site staff, and data analysis.
Work Environment
Our HR and General Affairs team consists of 18 members, including the manager, with a roughly equal gender ratio.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- HR experience in a business company or consulting experience in the HR field (minimum of 2 years of practical experience in either).
- Business-level English proficiency (native level, TOEIC 800 or equivalent).
- Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in problem-solving using data.
- Experience in managing and promoting projects within and across departments.
- Ability to embrace change positively and act with flexibility and speed.
- Problem-solving skills based on smooth communication with management and on-site staff.
- Proactive attitude to identify issues, organize information, and propose and implement solutions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Practical experience in international HR (e.g., payroll, evaluation).
- HR experience in an Online Travel Agency (OTA).
- Experience using HR systems and databases.
- Experience in supporting the overseas expansion of Japanese companies.
- Possession of HR-related qualifications (e.g., Certified Social Insurance and Labor Consultant, HRBP).
- Experience in cross-cultural understanding and international business environments.
