The Opportunity

  • Join an Innovative Global Engineering Team: Help direct a global organization of over 125 leaders, engineers, and technical experts within Roche, fostering an environment of technical excellence and high-impact innovation.

  • Shape the Technology Vision: Contribute to the global strategic roadmap, driving the evolution and development of pen and autoinjectors, pre-filled syringes, and other innovative delivery devices.

  • Drive End-to-End (E2E) Collaboration: Build and maintain influential relationships across Industrialization, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, and Clinical teams to ensure seamless device integration from early-stage to commercial launch.

  • Architect Robust Product Platforms: Design and deliver diverse drug delivery technologies, including on body wearables, intraocular systems and smart devices, while exploring emerging areas like pulmonary delivery.

  • Optimize Industrialization and Delivery: Oversee design verification and transfers, ensuring designs are optimized for large-scale manufacturing and robust industrial performance.

  • Cultivate Strategic Partnerships: Manage and guide CDMOs and external suppliers, ensuring they meet Roche’s rigorous standards for design integrity and development timelines.

  • Champion Continuous Improvement: Relentlessly challenge existing processes and systems to drive operational efficiency, streamlining development cycles and implementing robust design standards.

  • Embody VACC Leadership: Serve as a Visionary, Architect, Coach, and Catalyst, mentoring high-potential talent and building a sustainable pipeline of future leaders within the Device & Packaging community.

Who You Are

  • Experienced Engineering Leader: You hold a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Engineering with 15+ years of industry experience, including at least 10 years of successfully managing people, managers and project leaders.

  • Device Technical Expert: You possess a proven track record in the development and industrialization of pen injectors and autoinjectors, with deep knowledge of parenteral drug delivery systems.

  • Regulatory Navigator: You have expert-level understanding of medical device legislation, ISO standards, and combination product regulations, with a history of successful Health Authority interactions.

  • Strategic Global Architect: You are skilled at creating long-term technology strategies and have experience managing complex, global design control documents (DHF), risk management plans, and FMEAs.

  • Master of Matrix Organizations: You excel at influencing cross-functional stakeholders and senior executives, building strong internal and external networks to achieve business-critical milestones.

  • Coach and Talent Developer: You are committed to the Roche Leadership Commitments, with a passion for mentoring technical experts and facilitating career progression in a diverse global environment.

  • Effective Communicator: You possess exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills in English (German proficiency is a plus), with the ability to serve as a primary consultant to top-level leadership.
