Job Description

Who We are looking for

Act as the enterprise product and portfolio leader for Data & AI, defining strategy, owning the roadmap, and ensuring disciplined execution and value realization—while delivering clear, compelling communication to internal and external stakeholders.

What you will be responsible for

The Head of Data & AI Strategy, Portfolio & Value serves as the central product and portfolio management authority for all Data & AI initiatives across State Street.

This role operates at the intersection of strategy, product management, and executive communication, ensuring that Data & AI investments are:

  • Strategically aligned to business priorities
  • Structured as coherent, product-oriented roadmaps
  • Transparently tracked and measured for value
  • Effectively communicated to employees, clients, and investors

The role requires a leader who combines deep understanding of data and AI platforms with modern product management discipline and the ability to deliver high-quality executive narratives and artifacts

This leader will run a small, high-impact team responsible for managing the end-to-end Data & AI portfolio, driving roadmap clarity, and producing high-quality materials for executive, board, client, and investor consumption.

Success is measured by clarity of strategy, portfolio discipline, roadmap execution, and quality of internal and external communication

What you will be responsible for

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the portfolio, including:

    • Enablement teams
    • Lines of Business

Roadmap Ownership & Execution Tracking

  • Maintain a single, integrated enterprise roadmap for Data & AI

  • Develop polished artifacts including:

  • Establish a lightweight but rigorous portfolio management operating model
  • Drive consistency in:
    • Initiative definition
    • Prioritization criteria
    • Tracking and reporting
  • Enable faster decision-making through structured portfolio insights

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a small, high-performing team covering:

    • Executive communication and content development
  • Foster a culture of:

    • Financial services or peer institutions
  • Strong background in:
    • Data platforms and data strategy
    • AI/ML, Generative AI, and emerging AI capabilities
  • Proven track record as:

  • Exceptional ability to create executive-level and external-facing content
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Product roadmaps
    • User journeys
    • Platform adoption dynamics
