Global Forecaster (Business Planning Manager)This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Family Definition:

Defines, manages, and evaluates business plans to ensure they are operationally executable against defined strategic objectives. Leads and partners with cross-functional teams to develop short-term (typically less than two years) business plans and supporting data-driven models. Prepares comprehensive implementation tactics, including execution plans, resource allocation plans, follow-up guidelines, assessment, and process accountabilities. Ensures that business activities are aligned with stated plans among different stakeholders. Sets business metrics, evaluates actual performance, and makes recommendations to business leaders on performance target achievement. Develops data-driven analyses to optimize resources and ensure that business plans can be translated into financial value.

Management Level Definition:

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

This person has complete ownership of efficient forecasting for different Product groups. The candidate will use the Genesys application to develop forecasts. Engineers may be in different hubs / regions and support multiple Business Units with different staffing rules. Forecaster will work closely with both the Scheduler/RTAA and the Delivery Managers to make required changes to forecasts as business conditions dictate.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities:

  • Manages complex data and business analyses to develop business plans and make recommendations.
  • Works independently to construct complex statistical and financial models to forecast business performance.
  • Defines the metrics required to measure business performance, compares actual data to forecasted values, and develops the process for identifying and addressing performance gaps.
  • Manages complex, time- sensitive market research projects and synthesizes data and information to identify relevant trends and next steps.
  • Works with cross-functional teams across the entire span of business planning activities.
  • Contributes to priority projects with complex analyses and assists in developing recommendations.
  • Works closely with business leaders to develop business plans based on historical and forecasted data and reports.
  • Develops go-forward business plan recommendations based on potential risks and returns.
  • Identifies cutting-edge analytical tools, models, and methods for making key business decisions.


Approx 70%:

  • Generate forecasts for the supported Business Units and Hubs / Regions.
  • Address understaffing and overstaffing with operations to optimize headcount requirements.
  • Interact with delivery teams and Managers for inputs to forecasts. This may be across multiple sites.
  • Maintain employee information as appropriate.
  • Share standard and ad-hoc forecast reports with management.
  • Train new engineers on Genesys application as needed.
  • Work with Schedulers/RTAAs to ensure proper workforce management principles and procedures are being followed.
  • Work as a backup to other Global Forecasters during their absence.
  • Ensure to achieve industry standard forecast accuracy.

Approx 20%:

  • Work with Managers to ensure effective work handoffs between groups.
  • Communicate with Hub / Region Operations Managers and Schedulers/RTAAs on a recurring basis to ensure all forecasting inputs or changes are incorporated.
  • Working closely with Schedulers/RTAAs to calculate the Overtime requirement (if there is a need).
  • Coordinate with Operations and IT.
  • Coach engineers on correct AUX / Not Ready States Usage.

Approx 10%:

  • Train engineers on Genesys Tool usage.
  • Working closely with Schedulers/RTAAs and operations Team to ensure maximum adherence of the schedules on the floor.

What you need to bring:

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Basic Workforce Management and Technical Support Center skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Technical Support Center Metrics and their impact on daily operations.
  • Ability to work both independently as a contributor.
  • Knowledge and experience using the Genesys WFM or other similar workforce management applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel/ Word/ PPT) required to provide performance results and analysis.
  • Demonstrated effective communications skills.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Ability to work in diverse, cross cultural, or global teams.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Some travel, both domestic and international, may be required.
  • Work hours need to be flexible to accommodate support in different time zones.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Typically 4-6 years experience in strategy, planning, operations, finance, or related functional area.
  • First level university degree.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of research methodology and the ability to manage complex data requests.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.
  • Ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to business analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, Access, statistical analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Strong business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify and summarize relevant trends from market and industry data.
