Job Description

Hong Kong Asset Management Legal Entity Controller team is responsible for financial oversight of Hong Kong Asset Management legal entities, and is tasked with ensuring that a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the Legal Entity financials and regulatory reporting.

The team is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join us and the candidate can expect a comprehensive role that encompasses financial control, regulatory, tax and management reporting. This role also provides an opportunity to interact with multiple business or corporate functions while learning legal entity controllership end-to-end.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate month end close process to complete close of books and records under US GAAP as well as local GAAP for Hong Kong Asset Management Legal Entities
  • Perform analytical review to identify any significant misstatement on Balance Sheet and Income Statement, and liaise with other functions to identify business drivers for significant variances
  • Involve in the monthly general ledger certification and substantiation process
  • Work closely with the Regional Management Reporting team on financial planning and analysis processes, such as monthly revenue and expense reporting
  • Assist in the regulatory, tax and management reporting
  • Investigation, analysis and resolution of issues and response to ad-hoc queries
  • Support the annual statutory audits and the regulatory inspections
  • Support the preparation of meeting materials for location management committee meetings and regional finance control meetings
  • Participate in working groups for projects and new initiatives impacting Hong Kong Asset Management Legal Entities
  • Maintain high level of internal control standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field
  • 4+ years finance/accounting – related experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or a financial institution
  • CPA required
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills, with ability to think broadly and connect diverse issues and tasks
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and able to build strong working relationship with global counterparts
  • Strong initiative and work ethic, committed and proactive to drive process efficiency
  • Excellent project management, multi-tasking and collaboration skills
  • Proficient user of MS suite of products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge/experience with one or several dash-boarding/automation tools (e.g. Tableau, Alteryx, Python) is a plus
