  • Lead sourcing initiatives and negotiations to deliver measurable savings, manage risk and maintain service continuity.
  • Manage key supplier relationships and establish fit-for-purpose regional or global frameworks.
  • Identify eligible energy subsidies and support their commercial assessment and sourcing implications; ownership of applications, technical validation and compliance remains with the relevant business functions.
  • Provide market, supplier and commercial input to Operations-led energy consumption optimization initiatives
  • Market Insights & Hedging Strategy
  • Maintain a detailed view of energy markets, price drivers, regulatory developments and Sibelco’s exposure, supported by external energy specialists.
  • Own the data and models underpinning sourcing and hedging recommendations, including consumption, contracts, indices, open positions, coverage and budget exposure.
  • Translate market movements into timely, quantified scenarios and business impacts, clearly explaining assumptions, sensitivities and risks.
  • Recommend hedging actions and act as the primary counterpart to external advisors, independently challenging their analysis before decisions are escalated.
  • Renewable Energy & PPA Sourcing Support
  • Translate approved Sustainability and Operations priorities into procurement actions for PPAs, green certificates and other renewable energy solutions.
  • Lead procurement-led market engagement, commercial assessment, sourcing and contracting support, in collaboration with Sustainability, Finance, Legal and Operations.
  • Provide energy market, supplier and commercial input to renewable energy decisions
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with internal sustainability, operations, procurement and finance teams to ensure strategy execution.
  • Serve as liaison with finance teams during budget planning and forecasting.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across geographies.
  • Contract & Supplier Management
  • Lead negotiations/ RFx for global/regional energy suppliers and advise on local contracts
  • Evaluate supplier risk profiles and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Data & Performance Tracking
  • Build and maintain a reliable energy data baseline covering consumption, spend, prices, contract terms, market indices and hedging positions, in close collaboration with operations and finance.
  • Track price and volume variances, savings, cost avoidance, budget impact and forecast accuracy; investigate material deviations.
  • Connect market developments to Sibelco’s financial exposure and recommend actions.
  • Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, traceable and sufficiently robust for senior management decisions.

About you:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Procurement, Business or a related field.
  • Typically 8–12 years of relevant experience in energy procurement, trading, market analysis or a closely related industrial role, including ownership of complex sourcing decisions.
  • Experience working across countries and functions in an international environment.
  • English–proficient verbal & writing.
  • Strong digital fluency, with the ability to use AI and data tools effectively and adapt quickly to emerging technologies.
  • Outstanding numerical and analytical capability, with the discipline to work hands-on in complex datasets and validate assumptions independently.
  • Ability to interpret price curves, indices, contract structures, consumption profiles and hedge positions, and convert them into quantified scenarios and recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of European and UK power, gas and fuel markets, including CO₂ EUA/ETS. Familiarity with Nordic power sourcing and EPADs is an advantage.
  • Experience with renewable energy solutions, including PPAs, green certificates and decarbonization initiatives.
