We are hunting for a Global Editor that has significant demonstrated experience in areas including IT, Legal, or Academic Writing and Research. This position involves copywriting, editorial and publishing duties, all of which aim to ensure that ESET continues to create and deliver engaging, high-quality written content that is consistently delivered on time and aligned with company goals and messaging.
Job duties:
Working under the guidance of the Senior Global Content Manager, Editor-in-Chief of WeLiveSecurity.com and Senior PR Coordinator to ensure the department’s content commitments are met.
Research, write/edit in English, to create cybersecurity content (in the form of press releases, blog posts and reports) for corporate communications, product/service awareness, security and brand awareness as well as marketing demand-generation initiatives.
Work with the team’s existing Security Writers to further develop their hard skills, plan industry-relevant stories feedback content strategy, and take co-responsibility for publishing approvals.
Work with external providers (e.g., freelance writers and PR agencies), build comprehensive briefs and provide both timely feedback/editing of submitted content in order to publish high-quality copy in the required tone of voice.
Liaise with internal content requestors, SEO specialists and subject matter experts to ensure that content outputs align with company strategy and goals, short- to long-term priorities, and approved messaging.
Support the crisis communications response team, primarily editing reactive/proactive communications.
Work with LLMs, SEO and other editorial tools to write, edit, proofread and fact-check assigned content to ensure timely ROI-centric publication.
Maintain Content Management Systems - approximately 15-20% of each work week.
Fulfil assigned editorial tasks for ESETBlog.com, WeLiveSecurity.com, ESET Newsroom and other prioritized editorial requests.
Select, develop, train and harness AI-powered internal research agents and other content tools.
Qualifications
Background in copywriting, journalism, PR, editing and/or B2B product marketing with an emphasis on developing public-facing communications and outputs/assets. Leading candidates will have had a diversity of roles as writer, editor and/or quality gate, and have strong interpersonal skills necessary for stakeholder engagement.
Experience
Potential candidates should have more than five years of experience with writing/communications, preferably related to IT products and services, cybersecurity, and/or B2B technology or other complex copywriting in preparation for this role.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of three years of editorial experience.
Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of IT and/or IT Security industry product types and use cases
An understanding of product lifecycle development
Latest trends in content: development, consumption, lifecycle
Desktop publishing and CMS management
Microsoft 365 suite
SEO, translation and grammar-checking tools
Language
The candidate will be required to work in English at the following level:
Native - English C2 -or- ACTFL scale as Superior/Distinguished
Knowledge of Slovak, German, Spanish, French or Italian a plus
Communication
The successful candidate will operate in English, participating in meetings (HQ + Global Offices), holding all communications and creating/editing the required content in that language.
This job requires the ability to interview experts to find the story while adhering to industry and company editorial standards.
Inter-departmental, division and regional relationships must be built and maintained to succeed in this role.
The candidate should be able to independently advocate for content prioritization decisions with stakeholders, acting upon changes in delivery capacity and complexity.
Ability to maintain several stakeholder relationships, helping to create and communicate agile production plans.
Mentoring and Coordination skills
The successful candidate will not directly manage team members; however, they will mentor writers and provide feedback to external suppliers and requestors. Upon the absence of supervisory staff, the Global Editor (you) will assume many of their responsibilities and take ownership/coordination of assigned projects, thoroughly evaluate briefs, and work to understand subject matter complexities and delivery processes.

Education
We are seeking candidates whose educational attainment required extensive academic writing and research. Accordingly, candidates with backgrounds in IT and engineering have many advantages; however, applicants with professional experience in law, journalism, social sciences and other communications-intensive work will be considered on equal merit when selecting the final candidate for this role
Again, ideal candidates should be either native English speakers or demonstrate English language proficiency within the CEFR framework at a C2 level or on the ACTFL scale as Superior/Distinguished.
* It is critical that the candidates be prepared to critique and/or make editorial changes with confidence to written outputs initiated by ESET subject matter experts.
Basic wage component (Brutto/Gross): from 2500 EUR
* Financial bonuses are based on demonstrated performance and paid twice a year, up to 10% of the base salary paid during the evaluation period (usually six months).
* The final basic wage component can be increased according to the unique individual skills and experiences of the selected candidate.
