Job Title: Global DRY Technology Specialist – DRY Food H/F/X

Segment: Royal Canin

Location: Aimargues, France (near Montpellier)

Contract type: Permanent. Full time. Onsite.

The role of the Global DRY Technology Specialist is to lead the implementation of new raw material, new process and new product in global factory network from raw material reception to cooling process.

The Global DRY Technology Specialist is responsible to develop and defines R&D specifications needed for manufacturing of DRY product on existing manufacturing standard and for new technology. His/her functional perimeter is Global, including ROYAL CANIN and PETNUTRITION manufacturing network.

R&D specifications stands for product specifications and process specifications including:

• Specifications related to raw material processing,
• Specifications related to products (Quality Attributes, Key Quality Attributes)
• Specifications related to process flow, process sequence and equipment parameters settings,
• Specifications related to application of food safety standard and quality control.

The Global DRY Technology Specialist is the R&D representative for DRY technology of Royal Canin.

What are we looking for? 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Food) – Packaging is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in food technology development, process and scale -up and/or implementation as R&D Engineer, or Quality & food Safety in the factory environment.
• Proven experience working in multicultural and international companies.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
• Fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What will be your key responsibilities? 

1. Lead of DRY INDUSTRIALIZATION pillar at Global.

The Global DRY Technology Specialist is the leader, and the owner of Industrialization process In QUEST process related to Innovation pipeline execution for global and regional project. She/he is responsible to deliver key deliverables of Industrialization process for successful product implementation of Royal Canin product on the entire ROYAL CANIN and PETNUTRITION manufacturing network. He/she maintains and applies the Industrialization process with stage and gate on QUEST project and manage KPI related to the activity.

The Global DRY Technology Specialist is also involved on factory support.

She/He supports Regional DRY Technology Specialist on must do projects, basic problem solving and complex problem solving and product transfer within the same region (intra region). In case of product transfer between regions (inter transfer), with support of DESIGN team, she/he defines the plan required for product validation (Key Quality Attributes, Quality Attributes and Animal performance like Palatability, Digestibility, RSS).

As part of PPI community and workload management, the Global DRY Technology Specialist is in charge to collaborate with Regional DRY technology Specialist to give the overall visibility on new projects coming to the regions and workload overview.

1. Lead of DRY PRODUCT & DRY PROCESS GOVERNANCE pillar at Global.

The Global DRY Technology Specialist is responsible to develop, define, write and publish R&D specifications related to DRY Technology of Royal Canin.

More precisely, the Global DRY Technology Specialist will be part of following activities:

• Define process specifications related to DRY manufacturing standard in place,
• Define product specifications related to DRY manufacturing standard in place,
• Define process and product specifications related to new raw material, to DRY manufacturing standard upgrade and to new DRY technology,
• As part of CVS process, support deployment of Royal Canin product & process on the entire ROYAL CANIN and PETNUTRITION manufacturing network by defining Process Validation standards & Product Validation standards
• Establish a knowledge management system related to DRY Technology and R&D specifications.
