JOB SUMMARY
The Global IT Director is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the organization’s global technology strategy. This position oversees IT operations across multiple regions, ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable systems that align with business objectives. The role requires strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership to manage global infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and digital transformation initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership and Vision:
- Develop and execute a global IT strategy aligned with business goals; drive digital transformation; establish governance and compliance standards.
- Continuously assess and adapt IT strategy to emerging technologies, regulatory changes and evolving business needs
- Collaborate with senior management and business units to understand needs and deliver impactful IT solutions
Global Operations:
- Oversee infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, and enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, collaboration tools); ensure high availability and seamless integration; implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Maintain robust security measures and ensure adherence to international regulations; proactively monitor and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with international data protection, privacy regulations and industry standards (i.e. vCISO, CMMC).
- Oversee third-party security assessments, penetration testing and remediation efforts.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor global IT teams; foster innovation and collaboration; define staffing models to support 24/7 operations.
- Ensure strategic alignment with direct reports (including MIS, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Project Management, and End User Support).
Financial & Vendor Management:
- Manage global IT budgets for cost optimization and ROI; build strategic vendor relationships.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate emerging technologies; promote best practices and standardization across global processes.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS
- 4-Year degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years in IT leadership, including 5+ years in a global capacity
- Strategic thinking, leadership, communication, and decision-making
- Enterprise architecture, Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards
- ERP and collaboration tools (SAP, Microsoft 365, Teams)
- Experience with implementing and optimizing help desk ticketing solutions
- Strategic thinking, leadership, communication, and decision-making
- Proven success in leading global IT initiatives and driving digital transformation
- Ability to manage complex projects, multiple priorities, and thrive in fast-paced environments
