Job Description

The Global Contractor Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategy, governance, and execution of all third-party labor and contractor engagement across the Wind Services fleet. This role ensures that contractor ecosystems deliver safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Global Contractor Manager shall be responsible for:

Safety Leadership (HSE)

  • Own contractor safety programs and drive Zero Fatality operations in alignment with EHS policies
  • Ensure all contractors comply with local and international safety regulations
  • Oversee governance audits, incident reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives

Global Contractor Strategy & Procurement

  • Developing and executing global contractor and labor procurement strategies across the regions
  • Lead RFP processes, bid evaluations, and contractor selection for Crane, Blade, O&M, and other required 3rd party support
  • Establish long-term framework agreements and preferred supplier networks
  • Drive cost optimization while maintaining quality and safety standards

Contractor Performance Management

  • Define and implement contractor performance KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, and cost)
  • Establish standardized scorecards and governance reviews across all projects
  • Monitor contractor execution against contractual obligations, MSAs, and milestones
  • Lead performance improvement plans and corrective actions for underperforming vendors

Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance

  • Establish contractor quality standards and inspection frameworks
  • Ensure all work meets engineering specifications, codes, and contractual requirements
  • Implement lessons learned and continuous improvement processes using lean tools

Contract Governance & Risk Management

  • Oversee lifecycle management of all contractor agreements
  • Ensure contracts appropriately address risk allocation, performance guarantees, and compliance
  • Lead dispute resolution, claims management, and change order governance
  • Provide executive reporting on contractor risk exposure and mitigation strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in wind energy services, power generation, or industrial field services operations, including management of third‑party/contractor delivery across multiple sites.
  • 8+ years of senior leadership experience leading direct and matrixed teams in a regional/global services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of field services operations and commercial/contract execution, including contractor governance, KPI/scorecard management (safety, quality, delivery, cost), budgeting/forecasting, availability guarantees/SLA management, change control/claims, and EHS/regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic sourcing activities (RFPs, bid evaluation, supplier selection) and establishing framework agreements/MSAs for technical field services.
  • Experience implementing contractor quality assurance/technical compliance programs (inspection frameworks, lessons learned/CI) and leading audits/incident reviews with effective corrective actions.

  • Strong people leader with a track record of influencing and leading diverse, geographically dispersed and matrixed organizations (including external partners).
  • Executive communication and presentation skills; able to engage asset owners, utilities, and IPPs, and to align internal stakeholders (EHS, Engineering, Operations, and Sourcing).
  • Strong contract/commercial acumen in field services (MSAs/SOWs), including availability guarantees, remedies, change orders, and claims/dispute resolution.
  • Understanding of wind services contractor ecosystems (cranes, blades, major components, logistics) and how sourcing decisions impact safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment balancing multi‑region sourcing activities with in‑flight contractor execution and escalations.
  • LEAN/continuous improvement mindset; data‑driven approach using KPI scorecards, governance rhythms, O&M analytics, fleet performance dashboards, and productivity tools.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex operational and contractor performance issues (e.g., major component exchanges, site/grid constraints, severe‑weather recovery).
  • Strong governance mindset with comfort driving standardized processes, audit readiness, and consistent contractor oversight across regions.
  • Culture shaper and builder; drives a positive, teaming, safety‑first environment with clear accountability for contractor partners.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $192,000 and $288,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
