The Global Commodity Leader (GCL) for North America and Europe will manage all aspects of the Land & MW Constrained Segments Small Machined Fabricated (SMF) and large fabrication supply chain, driving cost-out initiatives and supplier strategy. This role supports both SCH, PNS, SLZ wind factories and collaborates with Services Commodity Leaders where synergies exist. It is positioned within the Machine Head COE reporting to the Hardware Global Commodity Manager. Overseeing a direct material spend of approximately $50 million. Success is measured by meeting cost, quality, and delivery needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Define supplier strategy, manage and optimize supplier panels, and allocate needs to specific suppliers.
Lead supplier negotiations, manage contracts, supply agreements, including supplier recovery and payment terms.
Drive cost-out initiatives.
Develop and execute long-term global commodity strategies for a diverse supplier base.
Select, develop, and manage supplier performance to align with business needs.
Collaborate with engineering, product line, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize procurement cycles.
Identify alternate sources to minimize single and sole-source dependencies.
Develop technical and market expertise in commodity areas and monitor industry trends.
Influence sourcing strategies with data-driven recommendations and industry insights.
Required Qualifications:
Significant experience in Sourcing & Commodity Management.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in the Renewables industry and manufacturing or operations.
Strong technical knowledge, project management, and negotiation skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate across departments.
Lean and process improvement experience.
Willingness to travel up to 15% internationally.
Strong English language skills.
