As a Global Category Manager, you will operate at the center of our international supply network, partnering with Business Units, Hubs, and strategic suppliers to secure competitive advantage, manage risk, and deliver long-term value across the organization.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Define and drive a global category strategy that delivers cost competitiveness, supply security, and performance excellence.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and contracting activities, leveraging global scale to optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Build strong cross-HUB and cross-functional collaboration to align demand, priorities, and execution.
  • Strengthen supplier performance, resilience, and innovation through effective Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply, cost, and quality risks across the value chain.
  • Enable business growth by supporting new product introductions, technology transfers, and R&D initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Hitachi Energy’s SCM processes, tools, and ways of working.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Category Management, or Strategic Sourcing in a multinational environment.
  • Proven track record in global or regional sourcing strategy development and execution.
  • Strong experience in complex negotiations, ideally supported by should-costing and TCO methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and commodity cost drivers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and cultures.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages and international mobility are considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
