Within Santander, the Insurance Domain drives the transformation of the insurance business by evolving products, processes and digital capabilities. The Protection vertical is a core pillar of Santander’s revenue diversification and customer loyalty strategy within Insurance, and the Corporate customer segment is of crucial importance.

THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

Santander Insurance is looking for a Global Business Development - Cyber Director based out of MADRID.

As Global business development director for the cyber business, you will drive the evolution of our cyber insurance offering by enhancing policy coverage, integrating value-added services, simplifying customer journeys, and optimizing distributor experiences. This individual will work across insurance partners, internal banking and technology stakeholders, and external venture capital ecosystems to position our cyber proposition as a differentiated, data-driven, and customer-centric solution globally.

This role carries full accountability for global cyber business KPIs, including revenue growth, fee generation, and Profit After Tax (PAT).

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

Global cyber insurance strategy and business development

  • Lead the global development and scaling of the cyber insurance business across Europe, LATAM, and the US.

  • Build and execute the strategic roadmap for cyber insurance products, prevention services, and incident response capabilities.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with insurers, brokers, MGAs, reinsurers, and strategic partners.

  • Drive commercial growth and profitability while ensuring sustainable underwriting and exposure management practices.

  • Own global cyber business KPIs including fees, revenues, growth targets, and Profit After Tax (PAT).

Product and solution development

  • Improve existing cyber insurance solutions by enhancing coverage, integrating cyber prevention services, and embedding incident response capabilities.

  • Simplify policy wording and reduce friction in quotation, underwriting, and risk assessment processes.

  • Optimize customer and distributor experiences to ensure a seamless subscription and onboarding journey.

  • Leverage customer data insights and cyber exposure intelligence to create differentiated market-leading propositions.

  • Collaborate with AI and data teams to enhance underwriting models, customer segmentation, and cyber risk assessment capabilities.

Ecosystem and strategic partnerships

  • Manage and expand relationships with existing and new insurance carrier partners globally.

  • Collaborate with Venture Capital partners, to leverage portfolio company capabilities and innovative cyber solutions.

  • Evaluate and integrate relevant cybersecurity technologies, prevention services, and incident response providers into the broader cyber ecosystem.

  • Partner closely with Santander insurance entities and Corporate and Commercial Banking teams to drive distribution and cross-selling opportunities.

Distribution enablement and training

  • Develop and deliver training programs for specialized sales forces and broker partners.

  • Improve cyber insurance literacy and sales effectiveness across distribution channels.

  • Create scalable enablement materials, positioning frameworks, and sales support tools.

  • Ensure distribution teams understand evolving cyber risks, coverage structures, and customer pain points.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Cyber insurance across insurers, brokers, MGAs, or related cyber risk organizations.

  • Proven track record of building and scaling cyber insurance solutions internationally.

  • Deep understanding of customer data utilization to drive better cyber risk solutions and customer outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience working in Agile teams and cross-functional delivery environments.

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L and business performance metrics.

  • Experience operating across Europe, LATAM, and US insurance markets

  • Strong relationship management experience with insurers, brokers, technology partners, and executive stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Bancassurance environments.

  • Familiarity with embedded insurance and digital distribution ecosystems.

  • Exposure to AI-enabled underwriting, cyber analytics, or digital risk platforms.

  • Experience working with Venture Capital ecosystems and cybersecurity startups

Languages

  • English and Spanish are required,
