GLOBAL BANKING & MARKETS

We make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.

OPERATIONS

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness, and integrity to our business.

YOUR IMPACT

Loan Operations is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate transaction processing across a broad range of products. Generally, the products supported are complex instruments that require close alignment with the business. A key focus for the organization is establishing strong risk management procedures and controls to ensure the firm and our clients are properly protected.

The functional processes managed by the Servicing Team are primarily aligned to the loan life cycle: from Origination; Initial Commitment to the loan; Trade Settlement; Drawdown/funding; Scheduled/Unscheduled Pay-downs; reconciliation of cash/position breaks; as well as the ongoing management of information related to our portfolio of loans.

This role provides a high level of interaction with revenue desks, sales, external agents, as well as exposure to compliance, credit, regulatory teams, treasury, technology, and other Operations areas to ensure we provide excellent client service to our wide client base.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the bank loan business through servicing a portfolio of syndicated corporate bank debt.

  • Develop your critical thinking competency by investigating and resolving transactional exceptions.
  • Coordinate with business, product control and middle office to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage risks related to specific processes and identify any deviations from established policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to automation of functions, de-risking processes and streamlining of complex processes.
  • Enhance your industry knowledge through settlement of complex loan trades.
  • Cultivate your problem-solving skills through managing and reviewing complex legal documentation pertaining to syndicated loans.
  • Build your communication skills through daily interactions with the firm’s external business counterparts, such as agent banks, clients, and trading partners.
  • Showcase your ability to function as a team player in a highly collaborative environment while working closely with internal stakeholders such as Business Groups, Legal, Tax, Controllers, Technology, Compliance, etc.
  • Collaborate with Global teams in New York, Dallas, London, Bengaluru, and Asia on initiatives supporting the loans market.
  • Participate in industry initiatives facilitated by the Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA) & Loan Market Association(LMA)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Loan Documentation Review & Interpretation

  • Review and interpret complex credit agreements, amendments, and legal documentation to ensure accurate application in operations
  • Validate key clauses (e.g., transfer provisions, interest terms, covenants, fee structures) prior to transaction processing

Controls, Risk & Compliance

  • Perform pre/post-transaction checks to ensure compliance with credit agreements and regulatory requirements
  • Identify documentation exceptions or inconsistencies and flag/escalate appropriately
  • Support reconciliation of cash, positions, and breaks to minimise operational risk

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a point of contact for Borrowers, Lenders, Agent banks, and internal teams (Front Office, Legal, Credit, Ops)
  • Resolve documentation-related queries and discrepancies efficiently
  • Ensure clear and timely communication across stakeholders

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Support preparation of MIS, regulatory reporting, and audit documentation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline documentation workflows and enhance controls
  • Contribute to automation and standardisation initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

  • 2–6 years of experience in loan operations, loan documentation, or agency servicing
  • Exposure to syndicated loans and credit agreements is essential

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of loan documentation, lifecycle events, and servicing processes
  • Hands-on experience with systems such as Loan IQ / ACBS / ClearPar
  • Ability to reconcile data and interpret financial transactions accurately

Core Competencies

  • High attention to detail and risk awareness
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage high volumes under tight timelines
  • Effective stakeholder communication and coordination

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Financial or quantitative academic background.
