About the role:
Reporting to both the Head of Strategy, Industries and Xborder – CIB Asia, and the General Manager Tokyo Branch. The incumbent responsibilities will combine:
RM responsibilities developing new clients and growing existing client relationships to maximize BBVA wallet share with Japanese corporates on a global basis throughout BBVA group. Focus on leading business organisations duties and supporting execution and risk assessment.
Support Senior RMs on business origination duties (client interactions,...) and lead on deal execution through coordination with product specialists globally and risk in Asia.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new relationships and to maintain existing relationship in Japan, and to support cross border business in BBVA footprint
Originate new business in Japan and supporting business liaising with product teams and BBVA offices in Asia, US, Europe, Latin America & Turkey. Products available in various sites can include transaction banking, term lending, global markets and M&A
As a global banker, coordinate relationship managers of client subsidiaries across the BBVA Group
Prepare and present credit applications and new business proposals.
As global relationship banker, formulate account strategy & associated income forecast.
Present new business case / annual renewal at local Credit Committee & New Business Committee
Work closely with Asia Risk & Portfolio Management to resolve internal credit queries
Liaise with legal and compliance departments to complete documentation and KYC procedures
Prepare internal reports to facilitate strategic business planning and management decision
Qualification & Experience
Degree holder in Business or related discipline
Over 10 years relevant experience of dealing with Japanese multi-national corporations
Solid knowledge of credit analysis and loan structuring
Experience in Japanese mega banks or / and other major international bank with deep relationships with clients in Japan as well as BBVA footprint countries..
Other Requirements
Native or equiv. in written and spoken Japanese. Desirable to have been brought up in Japan so that the candidate understands cultural background as well.
Sound interpersonal and communication skills
Strong customer-oriented mind set.
Able to work in a matrix reporting structure, multi-functional and cross-culture environment
Able to liaise and organize with various internal departments for identifying opportunities and closing transactions
Able to work under pressure with strong team spirit
