Job Description:

The opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, we are advancing the world’s energy system to be more sustainable, flexible, and secure. As a pioneering technology leader, we collaborate with customers and partners worldwide to enable a carbon-neutral energy future for generations to come.

To accelerate this transformation, we are looking for an experienced Global Account Manager who thrives on building strategic partnerships with some of the world's most important industrial and energy customers.

In this highly visible role, you will own and drive the global account strategy for key customers, partnering across business units, regions, and functions to unlock growth opportunities, increase share of wallet, and deliver exceptional customer value. You will serve as the trusted advisor to executive stakeholders while acting as the voice of the customer within Hitachi Energy.

This is an opportunity to shape long-term customer relationships, influence strategic business decisions, and directly contribute to the energy transition.

How you'll make an impact

  • Develop and execute global account strategies that align customer priorities with Hitachi Energy’s growth ambitions.
  • Build trusted, long-term executive relationships and position yourself as a strategic partner to customer leadership teams.
  • Lead the end-to-end customer journey across regions, countries, and business units to ensure a seamless and superior customer experience.
  • Identify and drive new business opportunities, strategic projects, and revenue streams across the full Hitachi Energy portfolio.
  • Collaborate with local sales teams, business units, and account stakeholders to deliver sustainable growth and achieve account targets.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive account plans, including customer strategy, stakeholder mapping, opportunity pipelines, risk analysis, and action plans.
  • Facilitate C-level engagement through executive meetings, business reviews, customer events, and strategic workshops.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring customer needs, challenges, and market trends are translated into actionable business strategies.
  • Drive customer-focused initiatives in sustainability, digitalization, and service offerings that create long-term value.
  • Lead account governance, performance reviews, forecasting activities, and budget planning to ensure accountability and measurable results.
  • Monitor account performance through Salesforce, ATLAS, and other commercial tools while maintaining accurate customer and account data.
  • Foster strong collaboration across Hitachi Energy and, where applicable, leverage synergies with other Hitachi organizations to increase customer value.

Your background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of successful experience in complex enterprise sales, business development, or strategic account management.
  • Proven track record of developing, managing, and closing seven-figure software, digital, technology, or solution-based sales opportunities.
  • Experience working with large industrial customers such as utilities, mining, rail, oil & gas, process industries, or infrastructure organizations.
  • Strong ability to engage, influence, and build credibility with C-level executives and senior decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated success in creating customer intimacy and developing strategic partnerships that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Skilled in consultative and value-based selling, with the ability to translate customer challenges into innovative solutions.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, negotiate, and close complex commercial opportunities within large organizations.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities combined with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Experience operating successfully in a highly matrixed, global organization and leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, high level of energy, and passion for creating mutual value for customers and Hitachi Energy.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
