Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • To perform various plating processes to deposit precious metals on substrates

  • Operate plating processes including cleaning and electrodeposit plating.

  • Follow verbal and written Engineering and Quality Control instructions as contained in process procedures, blueprints, operating in a specified and quality manner

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Manually performs or operates equipment requiring setups, constant monitoring, and periodic adjustments in temperature and/or chemical levels.

  • Maintain attentiveness to process details and equipment. Timers, temperature controllers and indicators, rectifier amp and volt meters, and other associated equipment must be set-up and adhered to.

  • Complete processes of fixturing/racking, surface activation; the use of filters, pumps, and agitators/mixers.

  • Perform pre- and post- processing tasks including, but not limited to, degreasing, cleaning, scrubbing, visual and dimensional inspection, and baking.

  • Make up chemical solutions, condition plating tanks, change filters

  • Use of inspection and lab equipment and methods including atomic absorption spectrophotometer, titration, XRF and microscopes.

  • Maintain all required logs, documents, and records as required

  • Move material within the cell.

  • Use of pumps, cranes and lifting carts to move chemicals during tank changes, makeup, and additions.

  • Must follow all safety standards as outlined by the certification trained on at all times The health and safety regulations encompass the cleanliness of the area

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • 3 years of Electroplating experience preferred

  • Ability to work with Acetone, Trichloroethylene, hot water, and drying ovens

  • Experience inspecting pins

  • Understanding of Amps/Milliamps and square inches

  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Physical Demands:

  • Good coordination and flexibility in both hands

  • Move and occasionally lift up to 50lbs. or more

  • Good vision including passing color blindness test

Work Environment:

  • Factory environment

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Use of safety glasses

  • Use of steel protective shoes or protective shoe covers

Training Requirements:

  • ERP and Time clock system Overview

  • Teledyne Ethics and Harassment training

  • Hazardous Communications

  • Quality Systems
