POSITION SUMMARY

A growing construction organization is seeking a GL Accountant to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, project accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, budgeting, payroll tax reporting, audit support, and internal controls. This position works closely with finance leadership and operational teams and is well suited for someone with construction or project-based accounting experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, correcting entries, and cost allocations.
• Perform monthly balance-sheet and general-ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Analyze revenue and expenses to confirm accurate coding, cutoff, and period recognition.
• Prepare project profitability reporting using percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Review project financial information and identify billing, cost, or revenue-recognition issues requiring follow-up.
• Support job-cost and project-accounting activities, including budgeting, cost allocation, and variance review.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and system entry.
• Assist with multistate payroll tax reporting and related compliance activities.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Help maintain and monitor internal accounting controls and financial procedures.
• Research discrepancies and recommend or prepare appropriate accounting corrections.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential financial records.
• Support reporting, financial analysis, and special projects requested by finance leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• General ledger accounting experience including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Construction accounting or other project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting strongly preferred.
• Understanding of job costing, revenue recognition, budgeting, cost allocation, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting monthly and annual close processes.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard accounting/reporting tools.
• Experience with Vista or similar construction accounting software is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and communicate effectively with finance, operations, auditors, vendors, and management.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $90,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement plan with company match, paid time off, holidays, and professional-development opportunities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is primarily an office-based position in Ardmore, Oklahoma, with occasional visits to project sites or other company locations. The role requires extended computer work, review of detailed financial reports, and handling of confidential financial and employee information.
