Job Summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a detail-oriented GL Accountant to drive financial accounting quality and efficiency within our fast-paced, high-growth environment. In this role, you will execute critical accounting processes and maintain robust internal controls. You will collaborate with cross-functional global teams to support key projects and implement continuous process improvements. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure accurate financial reporting and contribute to the strategic success of our global Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries with appropriate documentation, uploading them into SAP ERP for global legal entities.
  • Execute account reconciliations in Blackline, ensuring high accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Assist and actively participate in the monthly financial close process and all related accounting activities.
  • Identify and execute process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce financial risk.
  • Support the corporate accounting team by preparing audit schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate effectively with external auditors to provide requested documentation and explanations for assigned areas.
  • Prepare financial analytics to assist controllers with monthly flux analysis and close-related reviews.
  • Communicate seamlessly with cross-functional teams across different regions to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Assist in any additional and ad-hoc accounting activities required by the Record-to-Report (R2R) team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • CA or CPA qualified with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in GL/RTR functions within a large US multinational corporation.
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial analysis and presentation.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a proven ability to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other similar enterprise ERP systems.
  • Hands-on experience with account reconciliation tools, specifically Blackline.
  • Energetic and positive attitude with a strong track record of promoting teamwork.
