Lunch Monitor (Secondary)

Greenville Independent School District
Part-Time | 3-4 Hours Per Day

Greenville ISD is seeking responsible and dependable Secondary Lunch Monitors to supervise students during meal periods at Intermediate, Middle, or High School campuses. This role supports campus safety and promotes a respectful, orderly environment.

Primary Purpose

Monitor and supervise students during lunch periods to ensure compliance with campus rules and district expectations while maintaining a safe and structured environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with middle or high school students
  • Strong supervision, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and consistency
  • Must meet district background check requirements

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Student Supervision

  • Monitor student behavior in the cafeteria and designated areas
  • Enforce campus expectations and safety procedures
  • Address minor behavioral concerns and report issues as necessary
  • Assist with orderly transitions to and from lunch periods

Campus Support

  • Maintain visibility and presence to promote a safe environment
  • Communicate concerns to campus administrators promptly
  • Support overall campus safety initiatives

Working Conditions

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Ability to supervise large groups of students

Schedule:

  • Part-time, typically 3�4 hours per day
  • Not eligible for district benefits
