ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

GIS TECHNICIAN

DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Planning & Development

HIRING RANGE: $28.58-$31.75/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Monday 8:00 � 5:00, Tuesday-Friday 8:00-4:00

LOCATION OF POSITION: Public Service Building

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: None

Responsible for data input in GIS database and serving as front line for Planning & Development for business interactions related to GIS and addressing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in computer technology, geospatial information systems, or public administration or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Environmental Systems Reach Institute (ESRI) training courses preferred
• Working knowledge of GIS concepts and methods, in-depth data management, and application of development skills/experience
• Excellent organizational, communication skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures and practices
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision as well as with others in a team environment
• Pre-employment background check
