JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible to the Airforce Systems Directorate for providing and support RSAF systems in collecting and maintaining the military GIS database that would be used in RSAF units such as Simulators Systems, Mission Planning Systems, and flying units in airbases for various aircraft
Responsibilities
·Prepares special maps, drawings, charts, diagrams, presentations and reports related to data processing workflow, status or planning of a project, and any other required reports specified by RSAF directorate using GIS and computer-aided software.
·Explore new GIS technologies and equipment for department; develop and maintain procedure manuals, metadata, specifications, Tools, utilities and other continuity documentation to improves the efficiency and effectiveness of database processing.
·Processing, manipulating, analysis, enhancement and converting all types of data to be conformed to military standards and other system’s requirements.
·Support project planning activities and ensure alignment with the Directorate’s overall strategy and objectives.
·Builds visual, radar, and IR and any other specific databases using RSAF DBGS equipment of different aircraft fighters to be used in simulators and mission planning systems or other required systems specified by Air Systems directorate.
·Attending meetings and play an active role in technical issues related to the field of the job.
·Support RSAF Airforce Systems Directorate in any project that has common relation with GIS, Navigation, Simulators Visual Data Base & Mission Planning, air Systems.
·Troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems.
·Investigate, propose and co-ordinate solutions to overcome systems problems highlighted by flying squadron reports or calls.
·Writing reports to the head of team and/or the head of department regarding the workflow, status of a project, and any other required reports specified by Airforce Systems Directorate.
·General responsibilities of maintaining the systems, hardware and software based on common knowledge of computer system.
Job Requirements:
·Bachelor’s degree of Surveying Engineering, Geographic Information System, Geomatics, Systems Engineering or a related field.
·Saudi nationality is required.
·0–3 years of experience in GIS, Navigation, Simulators Visual Data Base & Mission Planning, air Systems, projects coordination, or related technical fields.
·Knowledge in mapping and satellite imagery and survey principals would be preferable.
·Experience in military mapping data format such as (CADRG, ASRP, CIB, DTED, DFAD, VMAP and satellite imagery).
·Draw and print various map and data flowchart.
·Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
·Fluent in English, with strong skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
·Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
·Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and deliver results in high-paced environments.
·Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
·Strong initiative and problem-solving skills in technical and operational contexts.
