Leads technical development and projects within the City of Atlanta – Dept. of Aviation’s Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) team at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL). Uses geospatial technology expertise to provide support for various ATL stakeholders as it relates to the needs of GIS data and technologies. Provide guidance and supervise work efforts of GIS staff assigned as direct reports. Management responsibilities of various GIS cloud-based services and geospatial environments. Performs project management and guidance of staff and consultant support efforts for the automation of GIS data collection, data conversion, data maintenance, and map production. This is a Senior level position capable of carrying out most assignments under general direction.
Supervision Received:
Works under very general supervision. May work independently or with other skilled or semi-skilled workers with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.

Education and Experience –
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Geography, CAD, or related field; and four (4) years of work experience in GIS support.
Licensures and Certifications - None required.
Preferred Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Geography, CAD, or a related field; and six (6) years of work experience in GIS support.

Lifting Requirements:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
This position follows the City’s hybrid work schedule policy as assigned by the Department of Human Resources Commissioner and requires in-person work at City worksites/facilities at least four (4) days per week, with the option to work remotely one (1) day per week, based on eligibility, departmental needs, and supervisor approval. The hybrid work schedule is subject to change at any time to five (5) days in-person work.
