We have a role available for a GIS Analyst to join our team. This is a permanent full-time position based in Melbourne, Victoria.

About the role

The GIS Analyst supports Defence and Social Infrastructure projects by managing, analysing, and delivering spatial data. Using ArcGIS and the LISA platform, the role provides geospatial insights that support land management, environmental services, project delivery, planning, and asset management.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collect, maintain, validate, and manage geospatial datasets, databases, and repositories, ensuring data quality, compliance, and accurate metadata.
  • Conduct spatial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing geospatial insights to support planning, project delivery, operational readiness, and asset management.
  • Produce maps, dashboards, and other spatial products that effectively communicate infrastructure, asset, environmental, security, and project information to stakeholders.
  • Configure, maintain, and support ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, LISA, web maps, applications, and map services, including user support and access management.
  • Develop and enhance automated GIS workflows using Python, FME, SQL, and ArcGIS tools to improve data processing, reporting, and map production efficiency.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a GIS, spatial analysis, geospatial data management, or related role.
  • Demonstrated experience using ESRI ArcGIS products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and enterprise geospatial solutions.
  • Experience managing, analysing, and maintaining spatial datasets for infrastructure, land management, environmental, or asset management projects.
  • Strong understanding of spatial data models, coordinate reference systems, geodatabases, and data quality assurance processes.
  • Experience integrating GIS data with business systems and presenting spatial information through maps, dashboards, and reports.
  • Experience using SQL and/or Python for data extraction, automation, and spatial analysis is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders, and technical specialists to deliver geospatial outcomes.
  • Diploma/Degree in GIS Systems highly regarded

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
