Job Description

Join JPMorganChase’s India GIFT City buildout and lead a front-line operations team at the center of trade lifecycle delivery. You will manage complex post-trade processes across multiple markets products, strengthen controls, and drive automation and process improvements. This is a high-visibility role for an experienced operations leader who can deliver results under pressure, develop talent, and partner effectively across trading, technology, risk, and compliance.

As a Vice President Currencies and Emerging Market Operations based in the GIFT City branch (Ahmedabad), you will lead a highly visible operations function responsible for end-to-end post‑trade delivery. You will own service delivery, controls, and regulatory compliance across products including foreign exchange, rates derivatives, options, fixed income, and money markets. Reporting to the India Branch Head of Operations, you will lead a team, drive measurable improvements in efficiency and straight-through processing, and partner closely with the front office and key control functions to deliver stable, well-controlled operations.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end post-trade delivery, including trade capture and validation, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, break management, investigations, and issue resolution.
  • Own service performance outcomes, improving accuracy, timeliness, straight-through processing, and client experience.
  • Strengthen the risk and control environment through disciplined control execution, issue management, remediation, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, maintaining strong governance, documentation, and operating discipline.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the team, ensuring clear accountability, effective coverage, and operational resiliency.
  • Partner with sales and trading, technology, risk, compliance, and finance teams to resolve exceptions and deliver change effectively.
  • Drive automation and process improvements, including workflow redesign, data quality enhancements, and operational dashboards.
  • Provide clear reporting on key performance indicators, incidents, control issues, and change delivery progress.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in markets operations, post-trade, middle office, or trade support, with end-to-end lifecycle ownership across at least one of: foreign exchange, rates derivatives, options, fixed income, or money markets.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and building a strong controls culture.
  • Strong knowledge of post-trade processes, including confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, and investigations.
  • Track record of delivering measurable improvements, such as reduced breaks, faster turnaround times, higher straight-through processing, or automation benefits.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and key performance indicators to manage performance and prioritize risk.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working in a regulated markets environment, with familiarity with India and emerging markets operating considerations.
  • Experience leading change or transformation initiatives in operations in partnership with technology teams.
  • Experience leading teams through the adoption of AI-enabled analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to improve operational efficiency and accuracy, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, well-controlled execution through coaching, change adoption, and continuous improvement
