GHR Power Apps / Power Automate / SharePoint Developer – AVP
Corporate Functions Technology
Reports to: Managing Director, Corporate Functions Technology
The GHR Power Apps / Power Automate / SharePoint Developer (AVP) is a hands-on builder responsible for designing, developing, and supporting modern business solutions that improve employee experience and streamline HR processes globally. This role focuses on building low-code applications and workflow automations using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) and SharePoint Online, with strong emphasis on scalability, governance, security, and application lifecycle management (ALM).
The ideal candidate has deep experience building enterprise-grade Power Platform solutions, integrating with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 services, and operating within a highly regulated environment that requires disciplined controls, documentation, and support readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Delivery (Power Apps + Power Automate + SharePoint)
• Design, build, and enhance Power Apps (Canvas and/or Model-driven where appropriate) to support HR and employee-facing use cases.
• Design and implement Power Automate workflows (approvals, notifications, routing, document-centric processes, and exception handling) with reliability and resiliency.
• Build and configure SharePoint Online sites, hubs, lists, libraries, pages, and permissions to support business collaboration and process automation.
• Translate business requirements into secure, performant, and maintainable solutions with clear user experiences.
• Deliver solutions aligned to global rollout needs (regional considerations, scalability, adoption, and support models).
Integration & Extensibility
• Integrate Power Platform solutions with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 services.
• Build and manage integrations using standard connectors and APIs; create custom connectors where needed.
• Collaborate with enterprise integration and platform teams to align patterns for identity, data access, and service connectivity.
Governance, Security & Compliance
• Apply enterprise governance practices across environments, data policies, connector usage, and access controls.
• Implement secure design patterns including least privilege, role-based access, and appropriate data handling controls.
• Ensure solutions meet internal standards for audit readiness, documentation, change control, and operational support.
ALM / DevOps Discipline (Enterprise Readiness)
• Implement structured ALM practices using solutions, environment separation (Dev/Test/UAT/Prod), versioning, and controlled deployments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation for deployments using approved tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps/Power Platform pipelines).
• Maintain release documentation, rollback strategies, and clear ownership for production support.
Operations & Continuous Improvement
• Provide Level 3 engineering support for production issues, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.
• Monitor solution health and usage; proactively reduce technical debt and improve maintainability.
• Create reusable components, templates, and patterns to accelerate delivery and standardize quality.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Partner with HR product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to refine requirements and prioritize enhancements.
• Produce clear technical documentation and communicate risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs in a concise, professional manner.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to community best practices across the portfolio.
Experience & Competencies
• 5–10+ years of experience delivering solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint Online in a large enterprise environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
- Power Apps (Canvas; Model-driven a plus)
- Power Automate (complex workflows, approvals, error handling, supportability)
- SharePoint Online (information architecture, lists/libraries, permissions, modern pages/sites)
• Experience implementing ALM for Power Platform using solutions, environment strategy, and disciplined deployment practices.
• Strong understanding of governance concepts (environment strategy, data policies, connector controls, access/security).
• Ability to integrate solutions using standard connectors and APIs; experience with custom connectors is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support production solutions in a regulated environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
Preferred / Nice to Have
• Experience with Dataverse data modeling, security roles, and environment configuration.
• Experience developing SPFx components (React/TypeScript) to extend SharePoint Online.
• Experience with Microsoft Graph, PnP tooling, and scripting (PowerShell) for automation and tenant/site operations.
• Prior experience supporting HR/employee experience solutions and global collaboration portals.
• Exposure to Center of Excellence (CoE) operating models, enablement, standards, and platform governance.
