  • Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports within areas of expertise including  rock and soil characterization, interpretation, and recommendations.
  • Provide input to engineering, operating, and capital cost estimates
  • Stamp documents and drawings as required and if appropriately registered
  • Undertake construction supervision and management dependent upon project demands
  • Support of site engineering team to provide technical solutions and timely response to technical queries
  • Work to ensure the implementation of safety in design and quality principles in design documentation

You bring to the role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Civil Engineering (Geotechnical focus) from an accredited university. Postgraduate degrees are an asset.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer
  • 4-7 years’ experience in relevant geotechnical and geomechanically investigation and design
  • The interest, educational background, and professional focus to work in both civil geotechnical areas/soil mechanics, and engineering geology/rock mechanics.
  • Experience working on projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards
  • Experience with Rocscience and GeoStudio tools. Experience with Leapfrog, remote sensing tools, Plaxis, and/or FLAC are an asset.
