Location: Hybrid in Pittsburgh, PAJob Type: Full Time / PermanentWork Authorization: No C2C or Sponsorship

The A.C.Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Geotechnical Engineer for a full time role.

Responsibilities

Oversee and perform analysis and design of various geotechnical projects

• Assist in the planning of geotechnical investigations
• Coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work
• Occasionally perform lab technician duties, including on-site sampling and drilling inspection
• Evaluate field sampling data and direct adjustments if necessary
• Interpret and evaluate the results of the laboratory and field data generated for inclusion in written reports
• Perform mathematical calculations and engineering formulas
• Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to lab technicians and other project team members

Qualifications

Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geoscience

Experience Required:

• Five or more years of experience in the geotechnical engineering field
• A valid drivers’ license and daily access to a motor vehicle
• Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities, including sustained walking, bending, twisting, standing, reaching, and performing medium to heavy work, including lifting 40 or more pounds
• Experience with Slide, PYWall, LPile, and gINT
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel- entering, analyzing, and testing of data
• Good understanding of the various, usual soil and material ASTM tests performed for the transportation industry
• Flexibility to accommodate extended travel, including overnights, if required

Preferred:

• Professional Engineering License in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within 60 days
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer, Civil 3D, ProjectWise
