In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in manganese, as well as copper exploration projects under way in North West Queensland. Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.
At Aquila Mine, we don't just mine coal, we redefine what's possible in underground mining. Located near Middlemount in Queensland's Bowen Basin, Aquila is a world-class metallurgical coal operation and a key part of Anglo American's Capcoal Complex. Developed with cutting-edge automation, remote operations capability, and industry-leading safety systems, Aquila represents the future of underground mining in Australia.
We are seeking a passionate and driven Geotechnical Engineer to join our high-performing technical team and play a critical role in supporting the safe, sustainable, and productive extraction of premium steelmaking coal.
