Role accountabilities:

  • Provide geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and ground improvement techniques, ground investigations, testing, and data interpretation.
  • Prepare technical reports, design documents, and recommendations for project teams and clients
  • Prepare and Review geotechnical calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Apply Arcadis Health and Safety Principles during the delivery of work
  • Perform role in accordance with the Arcadis behavioral framework
  • Manage the delivery of elements of projects in accordance with Arcadis management systems to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets
  • Work to ensure maximum performance and proactively work with the team members in Arcadis GECs and other Arcadis regions
  • Promote the culture of the business
  • Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution
  • Work effectively with team members in Arcadis GECs and other Arcadis offices and in accordance with agreed project working arrangements
  • Plan assigned work and allocate work to ensure timely delivery and effective utilization of resources
  • Monitor the performance of junior team members identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues
  • Work with an experienced engineer to perform specific elements of a broader assignment
  • Work on detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and increasingly complex tasks and prepare significant elements of technical designs, models and reports – all with limited supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Carry out investigations and analyses to support the development of technical solutions
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
  • Identify necessary changes to delivery requirements, raise these with Task Managers and assist in their resolution
  • Comply with Arcadis General Business Principles and Specific Anti-Corruption Standards


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical engineering with bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent and formally licensed to act as a professional engineer (if required in their Arcadis GEC country)
  • Possess 3 - 8 years of relevant professional experience, post MTech/MS/ME course
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software’s like Plaxis 2D/3D, GeoStudio, Wallap, REPUTE, LPile, GROUP, Settle3. Having FLAC 2D and
  • 3D skills will be an advantage.
  • Able to guide and provide technical advice to junior team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to discuss ideas and plan competently
  • Able to actively participate in safe design processes which consider safety during construction, operation and decomissioning through the use of hazard identification and risk assessment during design development
  • Possess a general understanding of one or more sectors within the business
  • Maintain a sound theoretical approach to the application of technology in engineering practice
  • Able to use a sound evidence-based approach to problem solving
  • Able to operate reliably, independently and competently in a specialist discipline
  • Able to input into discussions around identifying, reviewing and selecting techniques, procedures and methods to undertake engineering tasks
  • Capable of contributing to the design and development of engineering solutions
  • Possess time management skills consistently demonstrated through performance on projects
  • Experience performing work in accordance with agreed budget and schedule with limited supervision
  • Have a knowledge of sustainable development best practice
  • Able to support engineering activities that contribute to sustainable development
