In line with our growing business, we are looking for qualified candidates for the position of Geotechnical Engineer in our Noida (India) office.

• Processing and interpretation of engineering geological/geotechnical data.
• Analysing and designing of tunnels, shafts, caverns and other underground structures using advanced engineering methods and software.
• Performing stability assessments and designs for dams, including earthfill and rockfill dams.
• Designing foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and other geotechnical elements.
• Preparing detailed technical reports, drawings, and specifications for project deliverables.
• Evaluating geotechnical risks and develop mitigation measures for tunnelling and dam projects.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, hydraulic, and construction engineers.
• Conducting intermittent site visits for inspections and follow-up of on-going projects.
• Ensure compliance with national and international engineering standards and regulations.
• Contributing to the further development of the team within AFRY.
• Depending on experience and interest, be involved in development work within international team of design experts.

Qualifications

• A strong academic background with a MTech/PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering/ Rock Engineering.
• 4 to 6 years of overall experience in geotechnical (with a minimum of 2 years in hydropower and/or tunnelling industry).
• Sound knowledge and understanding of concepts in design of earth & rockfill dams, vertical shafts, slope stabilization, water/rail/road tunnels, powerhouse caverns and other underground structures.
• Proficiency in geotechnical softwares like GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, SIGMA/W, SEEP/W), RS2, RS3, Slide2, Dips, UnWedge, SWedge, RocPlane, Roc Topple, etc.
• Acquaintance with national/international standards and regulations in soil mechanics, rock mechanics and foundation engineering.
• A positive and dedicated team player with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills for report writing and team collaboration.
