At DEME Offshore, our geotechnical team applies geotechnics to make complex offshore installation work safe, efficient and certifiable. From tender to offshore execution, you’ll help shape jack up leg penetration & preloading strategies and derisk foundation installation. You’ll collaborate closely with tender, project and vessel teams, turning soil data into practical, reliable engineering decisions that keep our projects moving — safely and on budget.
Own the geotechnical scope from bid through installation: translate client & standard requirements into clear geotechnical inputs, acceptance criteria and operational constraints.
Assess jack‑up operations: leg penetration predictions, evaluation of boundary conditions to allow for safe jacking operations, review of site‑specific assessments (SSA).
Derisk foundation installation: drivability and installation assessments (impact/vibro/drilling/suction), pile run and stability checks, soil‑structure interaction topics relevant to installation.
Interrogate and upgrade the data: scope, guide and interpret site investigations (CPTs, borings, lab tests); consolidate and quality‑check data; build design soil profiles for installation engineering.
Turn analysis into action offshore: brief vessel teams about geotechnical conditions and constraints before mobilisation and support while offshore when required.
Collaborate & communicate: work with methods, structural, naval and equipment colleagues to align on solutions; explain geotechnical choices to non‑geotechnical stakeholders.
Continuously improve: contribute to in‑house tools, templates and knowledge (e.g., automation/scripts, data workflows) and capture lessons learned across projects.
