Position Information
The Geospatial Analyst will conduct research on remote sensing and machine learning to develop models that produce spatial data products required for large-scale agricultural systems modeling.
Responsibilities:
Develop and improve machine learning models for estimating crop biophysical
properties using satellite remote sensing datasets.
Implement spatial and remote sensing data processing algorithms to produce datasets
to integrate and/or assimilate into crop models.
Assist with literature review, reports, and publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Environmental Science/Engineering, or related field. Four years of related experience.
Or, Master's degree in Data Science, Environmental Science/Engineering, or related field. Two years of related experience.
Experience working on spatial data processing using ArcGIS, R, and/or Python.
Experience in building, training, and deploying machine learning models.
Experience working with satellite remote sensing data and data mining techniques.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the Unix/Linux environment.
Expertise in data assimilation techniques.
