Oxy Algeria will be running 2026 summer internships lasting approximately 8 weeks, starting in early July. This Geoscience internship is only open to students who will still be enrolled (not have graduated) from a Master's course at an Algerian University in the summer of 2026.

This position will be based at Groupement Berkine in Hassi Messaoud following a brief onboarding at Oxy in Algiers.

You will conduct a project involving seismic interpretation and evaluation of near/infield areas in the Berkine Basin. This will involve;

• Gather, QC and analyze available subsurface data for an area of interest: Well logs, Check-Shots and VSP.
• Generate seismic to well ties in key wells.
• Generate seismic interpretation of key horizons in the AOI (both in time and depth seismic volumes).
• Integrate horizons and a structural framework (faults) to define the extent of the accumulation.
• Identify key risk components for the chance of success of a dedicated well in the area.

You must be studying Geophysics at Master's level to apply for this opportunity.

Requirements:

• Foundational geophysics, structural geology and seismic interpretation.
• Basic petroleum geology concepts (Source rocks, reservoirs, traps, seals)
• Understanding of geophysical mapping & interpretation, use of 3D seismic data (time and depth volumes), basic understanding of well logs (gamma ray, sonic, resistivity)
• Communication skills, reporting, Microsoft Office
• Basic knowledge of DSG, Petrel or any other seismic interpretation software is a plus
