Geologist in Training (12 year contract)

Purpose:

Alamos Gold is looking for a recent geology graduate to support our corporate exploration team. The role is based in our Toronto Office and the successful candidate will assist with the GIS compilation of exploration data using ArcPro and database programs. A great opportunity for a recent BSc or MSc geology graduate looking for mentoring in return for hard work assisting the exploration team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working in a collaborative team environment to track and compile geological data
  • Spatial data compilation and validation using ArcPro, Leapfrog and other software as required
  • Data collection and document searches through government portals
  • Document organization, scanning, archiving, and file control
  • Other duties as required

What You Bring!

  • BSc or MSc in Earth Science (Geology)
  • Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) registration or the ability to register
  • Knowledge of mineral exploration workflows (sampling and geological mapping, core logging, data compilation)
  • Basic knowledge of mineral claims system in Ontario
  • proficiency with ArcPro or QGIS
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong research and analytical skills, problem solving, troubleshooting
  • Effective communication and organization skills

Salary Range: CAD $70,000- $80,000

The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
