Own the range. Shape the product. Transform the accessory business at GWM.

Are you ready to join one of Australia’s most innovative automotive manufacturers? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your contributions have a real impact? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

About GWM Australia:

GWM is the powerhouse behind the renowned Chinese automaker’s local presence. We specialise in importing, distributing, and marketing a diverse range of vehicles, including petrol, hybrid, and cutting-edge electric models. Our lineup features the popular Haval SUVs, the robust Cannon Ute, the rugged Tank 4x4 SUV, the bold H7 and the innovative Ora EV.

With a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, GWM is transforming the automotive landscape by offering high-quality vehicles tailored to the evolving needs of Australian consumers.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Parts, Accessories and Logistics, the Genuine Accessory Program Manager holds full accountability for the GWM Genuine and Authorised Accessory portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.

This position owns the accessory strategy, the development and launch of new accessory programs across the model range, supplier sourcing and commercial negotiation, homologation and regulatory compliance, and the commercial performance of the range.

It is the senior point of contact between GWM Head Office product and accessory development teams in China, local and overseas suppliers, and Australian and New Zealand regulatory authorities and it leads a small development team to deliver a portfolio that strengthens both the GWM brand and our aftersales value proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Genuine and Authorised Accessory strategy for Australia and New Zealand, defining the range by model, segment and lifecycle stage.
  • Lead cross-functional development with GWM Head Office, engineering, design, marketing and supply chain to define accessory concepts, specifications and supporting business cases.
  • Govern program plans, milestones and budgets across the accessory development portfolio, and report progress, risk and mitigation to executive stakeholders.
  • Direct all development activity through to launch, including prototyping, validation testing, fitment trials and release to market.
  • Hold accountability for accessory compliance with Australian Design Rules, New Zealand regulatory requirements and applicable industry standards.
  • Lead homologation activity for accessories fitted to vehicles sold in market, including preparation and submission of national homologation documentation.
  • Define the supplier strategy for the portfolio, and lead the sourcing, evaluation and selection of local and overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering supply agreements, pricing, tooling, warranty and contractual terms.
  • Hold suppliers accountable to agreed standards of quality, delivery and cost, and lead escalation and resolution where performance falls short.
  • Drive landed cost, tooling and piece-price optimisation without compromise to quality, durability or brand standards.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales on accessory positioning, pricing architecture, promotional campaigns and retail sales strategy.
  • Lead the accessory component of vehicle launches, and equip the sales and dealer network to sell the range.
  • Hold accountability for accessory revenue and fitment-rate targets, and set inventory and order policy that balances availability against working capital and obsolescence risk.
  • Lead, develop and build capability within the accessory development team, and act as the subject-matter authority on accessories for the wider business.

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, automotive technology, business or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualification advantageous.
  • 7–10+ years’ experience in automotive product or accessory development, with proven accountability for a portfolio, program or product line.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team, and influencing at senior and executive level.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Design Rules, New Zealand regulatory requirements, homologation processes and applicable industry standards.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including:
  • Budget ownership and cost management
  • Contract-level supplier negotiation
  • Landed cost and margin analysis
  • Business case development
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling and quality assurance methodology.
  • Experience working with overseas OEM head office teams and international supply bases advantageous.
