Job Description

HEICO Component Repair Group, a global leader in the overhaul and repair of aircraft components, is looking for a Generator Technician to join our talented technical team.

This position offers a dynamic, hands-on environment where your mechanical skills will directly contribute to the performance and safety of commercial aircraft systems. You will follow OEM manuals, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations to ensure all components meet quality and airworthiness standards before being released back into service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test various aircraft components.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify component failures and determine appropriate repair actions.
  • Work with generator components and related pneumatic and mechanical systems.
  • Follow OEM manuals, engineering instructions, technical specifications, and FAA regulations when performing repairs.
  • Use hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges, and specialized test equipment to perform repair and testing activities.
  • Perform functional testing to verify that repaired components meet applicable requirements before release.
  • Identify worn, damaged, defective, or non-conforming components and report findings as required.
  • Replace or repair defective components in accordance with approved procedures and technical instructions.
  • Maintain accurate repair, inspection, and test documentation to ensure proper traceability.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Quality Control personnel to resolve technical issues and ensure repair requirements are met.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe conditions.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

Skills and Education Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with generator systems (aviation or aerospace preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and MRO standards is preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit at a bench for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to mechanical equipment
