The Generator Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs for mechanical equipment at CMI’s customer site in Beltsville, MD.

Key Job Functions

  • Repair or replace parts as needed to maintain buildings, equipment and furnishings in all aspects of facility maintenance: this includes being able to work with various types of materials: woods, plastics, paints, glass, sheet metals, PVC products, greases, oils, etc.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, removing, relocating, and/or installing building furnishings (i.e. pictures, towel dispensers, shelving, etc.) in order to complete task.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on building equipment/furnishings in accordance with the manufacturer’s operation manuals.
  • Determine required materials and supplies relating to preventive maintenance, repair orders, and projects to complete each task.
  • Perform duties from elevated equipment to include ladders (step or extension), telescoping or scissor lifts, scaffolding and platforms.
  • Move and arrange heavy office furniture, equipment or supplies as needed.
  • Perform other general mechanic related duties as required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must have expertise in troubleshooting and repairing generator systems and possess relevant certifications.
  • Experience performing related services within a government facility
  • Have knowledge of and utilize hand tools, small power tools and man lift equipment to complete task.
  • Properly maintain, clean, and care for tools and equipment as well as maintaining a clean work area.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be able to pass a government background check
